About donations and support

Cafe COVO TANA and the Amami Cat Club are primarily staffed by locals and are working to address many of the issues related to cats on Amami Oshima. These efforts range from "holding events to raise awareness of proper care," "surveys of stray cat habitats with the participation of local residents," "cat rescue and adoption activities," and various other related "consultation services."

Cat rescue and adoption activities require more effort, energy, and expense than you might imagine. We have also encountered the problem of abandoned or neglected cats on numerous occasions. We desperately continue holding events and investigations with limited staff, and our consultation services are often filled with constant stress due to the tragic situations and troubles we face, and we have often felt like giving up.

But the driving force behind their efforts is their desire to make Amami Oshima, where they were born and raised, a better island, and to pass on this wonderful island to the next generation.

Funds for our activities are barely raised through COVO TANA's sales and donations from everyone, but at present this is far from enough, so we have to continue our activities at the expense of our personal lives.

In addition to using cafe COVO TANA and cat cafe Gatti, we also offer many tools and services that can help provide support, such as shopping at our online store and requesting cat sitters.

Of course, direct donations are greatly appreciated and are always welcome.
